Site under ReconstructionCurrently this web site is under reconstruction and thus does not provide full detail of the Vine Tours service. In the interim, we have provided the following outline details and links to help you learn about what we do. Vine Tours provides informal wine tasting tours and breaks around the southern Côtes du Rhône wine region of France, that includes such famus names as Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas. Vacqueyras, Lirac, Tavel and Beaumes-de-Venise. We also visit the lesser known, up-and-coming wine regions of the Côtes du Luberon and Ventoux in the East, the Costières de Nîmes in the West, and the Vallée des Baux-de-Provence in the Alpilles hills to the South of St-Rémy-de-Provence. Our vineyards are hand-picked because of the quality of wine that they produce (obviously), but also because of they welcome that they provide and the quality of their location. We favour small producers over their big, overly-commercialised competitors. Where possible, we visit wineries that export overseas, to try and ensure that our clients can continue to enjoy the wines that they discover upon their return to their homes. Also we try and plan our tours to follow as scenic a route as possible, allowing our clients to combine wine tasting and tourism and discover some of the byways of this beautiful part of Provence along the way. If you wish to find out more about any aspect of the Vine Tours offer, or if you wish to book a tour or break, please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail (mail@vinetours.co.uk) or telephone (+33(0) 6 13 75 40 20). Basically, there are two sides to our offer: Daily ToursFor those staying in the region around Avignon, we take groups of up to 8 out in our air-conditioned people carrier to discover the wines of some of our favourite vineyards. We pick up and drop off at your holiday accommodation. We offer three options - a full day tour (with a picnic lunch option), a half-day afternoon tour and a 'quickie' tour at the end of the afternoon. Click to open an electronic version of the current Vine Tours leaflet. Wine Tasting Short Breaks and HolidaysWe have a 19th Century farmhouse that we have converted to offer self-catered, bed and breakfast and half-board holiday accommodation, marketed under a separate brand - Maison d'Être Holidays. Through Maison d'Être Holidays you can arrange either a full length holiday (completely wine-focused or with just a little wine tasting 'thrown in') or a short break. Click to visit Maison d'Être Holidays' web site and find out about short breaks and holidays and the various wine tasting deals available. (Please note that we can provide weekend wine tasting tours out of our high season - mid-June to start-September - but if you are considering a wine tasting weekend, many vineyards are shut on Saturdays and almost all of them on Sundays! Therefore your options will be more limited than they are Monday-Friday. So we recommend building at least one weekday into a wine tasting short break.) |
